Who's Who: Golden Boy

Golden Boy
by Russell & Siskoid

Real Name: Klint Stewirt
Super-Power(s): Gold touch
Planet of Origin: Earth
Relationship to Legion: Rejected applicant

Legion Log
Golden Boy appeared on Earth to apply to the Legion during the time when Dynamo Boy was the sole Legionnaire, and was in the midst of turning it into a force for evil. Still, the ability to turn anything into gold was not deemed a useful power, and Golden Boy was rejected.

During his one Silver Age appearance, Golden Boy's backstory (including his real name and planet of origin) was not actually revealed.

Golden Boy appears in neither the Reboot nor the Threeboot.

After Infinite Crisis, Golden Boy's original history has presumably been more or less restored. He later joined the xenophobic Justice League of Earth, by then sheathed in golden skin. The team was defeated by the Legions with Superman's help and imprisoned on Takron-Galtos. When Superboy-Prime engineered a prison break-out, Golden Boy joined his Legion of Super-Villains.

  1. "Since transmutation is illegal on Earth..."

Whoever wrote that little blurb had apparently never heard of Element Lad, who became a Legionnaire (and moved to Earth) over 2 years before Golden Boy showed up...

  2. Well, the Legion did say, at least initially, that they'd keep Element Lad's power a secret.
